I'm Court, a homeschooling mother of three—lover of history, traveling, baking, reading (mostly historical fiction), and Scrabble.

 I always dreamed of becoming a teacher, so after high school, I pursued a degree in education. During that time, I gained valuable experience working as an assistant teacher in a private kindergarten, as a preschool teacher, and even spent a year in an AmeriCorps program, working in a middle school special needs classroom. These experiences taught me a lot about education and the school environment, but they also made me realize that traditional teaching wasn’t for me. I saw how teachers were often bogged down with paperwork and pressured to teach for standardized tests, which left little room for creativity or individualized learning.

 

When I became a mother, I knew I wanted something different for my children. I decided to homeschool, creating an environment where learning happens through play, curiosity is encouraged, and learning comes to life. This approach allows my children to explore, grow, and truly love learning.
